I am a multi instrumentalist with rhythm at my core.
To me there is little difference between a drum
and a guitar or saxophone. It is all rhythm.
Being immersed in rhythm is a wonderful, joyful experience.
For me, sharing that joy (whether through education
or though performing) is what the hothouse is all about.

I have been passionate about drumming for as long as i can remember; the sight, sound, excitement and sensation of the drums moving through the heart of a small child mesmerised by a brass band marching by in the street in front of me has never left me... and ignited the dream of being part of making a sound that could move people like that moved me, move peoples hearts like that moved mine...
And like many people at school, was told i was not musical, could not sing, and understood that music was to be left to the elite. And so the dream was dampened for a while. But, like a true friend, never left me.
And so i particularly enjoy working with people who have no musical background, or who think they aren't musical, or who think they can't. Because i have something to say about that.
And more than anything else, i love the capacity and power drumming and rhythm has to bring us together in our humanity.
And for me, that is 'the hothouse'.
