passionate about sharing music
the hothouse is a family-run project, co-directed by a family team, Felicity and Peter Scott. We created 'the hothouse' to be a 'hotbed' of creativity. We deliver innovative and inspirational music services. Our business is making music come alive.
For schools we offer rhythm at the heart - a rhythm based approach for exploring music. This consists of:
beatbank
a collection of video and printable resources, accessible online, to enable teachers to develop engaging and inspirational music sessions with their students, with minimum effort
beatband workshops
in-school events with one of our leaders, providing an inspirational experience which will both develop the childrens’ musicality and motivate them to engage fully in school musical activities.
For adults, out of the school environment, we offer:
drum your heart out
drumming workshops for adults (playing predominantly African djembe drums).
drumbreaks
drumming and rhythm sessions specially tailored for specific groups: team building, or energisers for businesses or celebrations.
For good quality, great-to-dance-to live music we offer:
the hothouse band
either at our monthly club events, in our programme of gigs, or hired to play for private events.
We love music for the way it brings people together, young and old, for the celebration it brings to life, for the sheer excitement that it provides. We include all these elements in the hothouse.
