curriculum

The following lists some of the common focusses a school might have when booking us for a beatband workshop. It is not an exhaustive list. We are very keen to be creative in the way we are involved in a school. This list is to give you ideas of how you might use us.

  • to enhance the delivery of the national curriculum in music with a potent experience of practical, focussed music making
  • as part of a music week; cultural awareness week; multicultural week; activities week
  • as an end of term celebration; as a fun thing to do; as a beginning of term energiser
  • as a teambuilding event; or part of a teambuilding event
  • a programme of sessions leading to a performance
  • an extension to a theme or topic the school is working with this term

Themes we have worked with include:

  • carnival
  • entertainment
  • Africa; specific countries in Africa
  • South America
  • China
  • American Indians
  • exploring rhythm
  • sharing music
  • food
  • Cornish Tin Mining (yes, really)

and many more.

If you have other ideas we are open to talking them through, and are willing to try new things.
